Third Dimension AI, a cutting-edge 3D generative AI company, has secured $7 million in a seed funding round led by Felicis, with participation from Abstract Ventures, MVP, Soma Capital, and the Salt Fund. The funding will be used to expand the team, enhance the training of generative AI models, and advance the company’s vision of becoming a leader in the 3D content creation industry.
Founded by gaming and autonomous vehicle experts, CEO Tolga Kart, CTO Piotr Sokolski, and machine learning engineer Özgun Pelvan, Third Dimension aims to enable artists and engineers to generate high-fidelity 3D worlds with ease, using generative AI to convert 2D images and videos into immersive 3D environments. These creations will be utilized across various industries, including video games, film, autonomous vehicles, and military applications.
Kart brings extensive experience from his time at Tesla, Activision, and Parallel Domain, where he led initiatives in both the gaming and synthetic data sectors. The founders’ expertise in neural networks, machine learning, and photorealistic simulations empowers Third Dimension to streamline the creation of large-scale, intricate virtual worlds, significantly reducing the time and cost traditionally associated with 3D development.
“3D content generation is at an inflection point,” said Kart, noting that the advances in generative AI parallel the transformations seen in text and image generation through platforms like ChatGPT.
